Grants from this fund are awarded by the FSA board of directors to faculty, staff and students who propose public programs that will promote and cultivate educational and extracurricular activities on the Buffalo State campus. Grant applications are accepted fall only; funding is awarded for the following calendar year (ex. spring, summer and fall semester following award).
The application will be available on September 16, 2024
The deadline for applications will be October 25, 2024
Grant awards will be announced in December 2024
Except in rare circumstances, grants will be awarded according to the following guidelines:
Programs must have a physical or hybrid presence on the Buffalo State campus and cannot be completely remote.
Grant funds awarded in this cycle must be expended before December 31, 2025.
Programs must be open to all members of the campus community free of charge—if there is revenue generated by the event in the form of admission or other charges, that amount will be deducted from the awarded FSA grant disbursement.
Programs must be on a non-continuous basis and cannot be a regular or annual event exceeding the reasonable limits set by the FSA board.
Applications including civic and community engagement efforts are encouraged.
No more than 1/3 of FSA grant funds may be expended for food, beverage, or associated items. This amount is based on the total grant amount utilized/spent, not the total grant amount awarded. Starting in fall of 2023, grant funds cannot be used for speaker meals/dinners/lunches that do not take place contemporaneously with the funded event. If program organizers would like to include a speaker meal per diem, that amount should be included in an overall honorarium total.
A program flyer/promotional material and attendance estimate must be provided to the FSA prior to processing the final disbursement.
Grant funds cannot be used for bulk gift cards, coupons, giveaways, incentive gifts, or physical materials not directly related to the program participation.
Original invoices/billing receipts must be provided to the FSA prior to any grant disbursement. FSA does not advance funds and only provides funds for reimbursement or direct vendor payment.
Please submit any speaker biographies/resumes with the application packet. Any additional attachments can be emailed to fsa@buffalostate.edu after completing the online application.
ALL grant applications MUST be submitted electronically using the FSA application form during the open application period. Completed applications and additional questions should be emailed to: fsa@buffalostate.edu
